CAP002 Line Level Pre Amplifier
Line level preamplifier in an ABS flame re-tardant black box with terminal screw connections.
The Unit is designed for use with electret condenser microphones and is factory set for 24-volt operation and Line Level Output.

This unit can also be used for Phantom Power Operation through the microphone cable. No separate power connections should be made, the red jumpers on the headers "JP1" and "JP2" on the circuit board should be repositioned from "B" to "A", and the resistor R5 changed to 100K.

CONNECTIONS
|
|
Microphone:
|
Connect Phase + (Hot) to screw terminal 3 on connector "PL2"
Connect Phase - (Cold) to screw terminal 4 on connector "PL2"
|
|
AC 24v or DC 12-24v
|
Connect +ve to screw terminal 1 on connector "PL2"
Connect -ve to screw terminal 2 on connector "PL2"
|
|
Output connections "PL1":
|
Screw terminal 3 = Phase + (Hot)
Screw terminal 2 = Phase - (Cold)
Screw terminal 1 = Ground
|
|
If more headroom is required to avoid microphone distortion the resistor R5 should be changed:
1K as supplied gives minimum headroom
2K gives approximately 6dB more headroom
3.9K gives approximately 12dB more headroom
18.2K gives approximately 18dB more headroom
100K gives maximum headroom (microphone level)
